Finding Stillness Through Nature

My name is Erin Dupuis, I am a Tualatin, Oregon–based artist whose work explores the quiet intersection of nature, emotion, and healing. Although art has been a constant presence in my life since childhood, I began pursuing it seriously in 2025 as a way to navigate and process challenging experiences in my professional life.

What started as a personal outlet quickly evolved into a deeply rooted creative practice. Through my work, I have found not only a sense of balance, but a renewed connection to the natural world and its subtle, restorative beauty.

Working primarily in pastels and pastel pencils, I create detailed, realistic renderings of wildlife and botanicals. My pieces are grounded in observation, yet guided by meaning—often incorporating symbolic animals and flowers that reflect emotion, resilience, and transformation. Each subject is chosen with intention, offering layers of interpretation beyond the surface image.

My style embraces simplicity and restraint, balancing intricate detail with thoughtful use of negative space. I often experiment with background color to complement and elevate the focal subject, creating compositions that feel both calm and visually striking.

At its core, my work is an exploration of healing—an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the quiet strength found in nature.
